Movin’ on up

Hello stranger.

I have truly neglected my blog lately. Here’s a few poor excuses reasons why.

The moving house excuse.
What was originally estimated to be a 6 week process unfortunately will now be 6 months. This has meant all my spare time has been spent dealing with lawyers, insurance companies and generally stressing out. Pardon me while my brain explodes.

The moving house excuse….again!
In anticipation of actually moving (whenever it happens) me and the fella have been spending our evenings and weekends shopping for super exciting grown-up stuff such as toilets and paintbrushes and lawnmowers and hoovers, and have genuinely panicked at how little essentials we own as a couple.

The ‘I don’t feel like it’ excuse.
Pretty self explanatory really. In a nutshell,  I haven’t been in the mood to work out (especially in the heat) so haven’t wanted to blog about it either. However, now it has cooled down, work isn’t so busy, and the move is finally starting to get some pace. I’m back baby.

It will be mine. Oh yes. It will be mine.

The gym shower dilemma

It is no secret that I haven’t been at the gym as much as I’d like lately, and I certainly have been pretty terrible at keeping up with this blog.
However, I am hoping that this will turn around in the near future.

Although I have been going to the gym – albeit not as much as I really should – I have aslo been tying up all the loose ends with regards to me and the fella buying our first house. *Insert girly sqeual here*
Now all we can do is wait for the solicitors to get their finger out, and give us a move-in date. Huzzah! Resulting in less time faffing around with paperwork and more time at the gym (in theory…).

When the move is finally arranged, we will be moving into a house that is…how do I put this, falling down in need of modernisation.

The truth is, there is currently a bathtub, from 1948. A little bit manky but hopefully livable after a few scrubs…..but there is no shower. Most people would not have a problem with this. However, referring back to one of my previous posts, I am allergic to hot water, meaning I cannot have baths (too hot), only showers (luke warm. That’s right, just call me Goldilocks) – And if you are thinking to yourself, “Just have a cold-ish bath you wimp”, I dare you to try it. It ain’t bloody easy!

So, since I am paying for a gym membership I can’t get out of (and don’t want to either really), I’m thinking I will need to go to the gym to shower until we can afford to remodel and redecorate the bathroom (which, in fairness, is low down on the list behind buying central heating and a kitchen…Yeah, “modernising” is gonna be fun)  I’m hoping this will really push me to really get my exercise minutes clocked up.

Only one further dilemma here, there are lots of naked old chicks there. If you’ve seen the Michael McIntyre sketch about public changing rooms, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I’ll keep you all posted….

Abandonment issues…

With the recent bank holidays, and with a busier life both inside and outside of work, I have neglected this blog the past fortnight. Please forgive me poor bloggy.

For any who are actually reading this, here are the things that have kept me away from blogging:

Work is mental. After taking on more work and after losing a member of staff, it’s been incredibly busy (in a good way though) and where I may have blogged on lunch before, I have instead been catching up with general internet chores such as paying bills ( and also very importantly, catching up on Desperate Housewives).

I am buying a house with my fella. After months of looking for our first buy, this past few weeks we finally made an offer on a house, had it accepted, met with our mortgage advisors, solicitors and estate agents, and have been swamped with a “Housey to-do list”. Very exciting, scary, and busy!

Although I may not have been blogging about it, I did attend the gym twice over both bank holiday weekends. It was very busy, very hot, but at least I got there.

Anywho, there is my explanation. I’m back!
